Between 1 and 5 June, faculty members from Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov”–Varna participated in a short-term international scientific mobility at Trakya University, Edirne, Turkey, within Activity 3.3 “International Cooperation” of Project No. BG-RRP-2.004-0009 “Medical University–Varna:  Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)”, funded by the European Union–NextGenerationEU, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The mobility involved Assoc. Prof. Galina Rumenova Petrova, PhD, and Chief Assist. Prof.  Mariya Mitkova Ivanova, M.Pharm., PhD, from the Department of Organisation and Economics of Pharmacy, as well as Chief Assistant Prof. Dr. Liliya Panayotova-Ovcharova, PhD, from the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation and Sea Treatment at Medical University–Varna.

During the meeting Assoc. Prof.  Galina Petrova and Chief Assist. Prof.  Mariya Ivanova held working meetings with lecturers and researchers from the Department of Pharmacology and the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Trakya University. Current trends in education and research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, opportunities for development of joint scientific publications, participation in international research projects and expansion of academic cooperation between the two institutions were on the agenda.

As part of the mobility, Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Liliya Panayotova-Ovcharova conducted professional exchange and working meetings with the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Trakya University. The guests visited the clinical facilities of the university hospital, where they were introduced to modern approaches in rehabilitation medicine, the organisation of clinical practice, the training of students and residents, as well as best practices in the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Throughout the visit, meetings were held with representatives of the academic management of the host university, the faculties of medicine and pharmacy, as well as with lecturers and researchers from various academic units. Opportunities for future joint research, academic exchange, participation in international projects and development of collaborative educational initiatives were discussed.

The mobility contributed to strengthening the international partnerships of Medical University–Varna, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices, and laying the groundwork for future joint scientific publications, project proposals, and sustainable academic cooperation between Medical University–Varna and Trakya University, Edirne, Turkey.
