Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) and snoring is a socially significant disease with comorbidity and impairing quality of life. Sleep disturbance leads to a decrease in memory , concentration and normal psychomotor skills of the individual. The large body of evidence from clinical and epidemiological studies has led to the conclusion that OSAS and chronic snoring are associated with a variety of negative health outcomes and with increased mortality rates. The present study aims to establish a relationship between the syndrome and its comorbidities, which have been investigated for years, but with new, innovative equipment and technologies needed for in-depth research, diagnosis and prevention. Working in multidisciplinary teams of clinicians and researchers ensures that patients have access to adequate care and treatment.
