Приемам | Разбери повечеTwo renowned lecturers and researchers in the field of nursing care from Turkey visited MU–Varna within the framework of the MUVE–TEAM project. The visit of Prof. Dr. Esra Uğur and Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Nuran Ayşen Pamir Aksoy from Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, Istanbul (Turkey), was targeted at exchanging academic and scientific expertise in the field of modern nursing education and clinical care. During the visit, meetings were held with the academic staff of the Department of Healthcare, lectures were delivered in the fields of prevention, disease management, and healthcare systems, and a training school for doctoral students was conducted.
As part of the working visit, two public lectures were held in the First Auditorium of MU–Varna on 20 May 2026, which generated significant interest amongst lecturers, students and health care professionals.
Prof. Dr. Esra Uğur presented a lecture entitled “Nursing Education from Theory to Practice: Integration of Simulation into Nursing Curriculum”, centred on integrating simulation-based training into the education of nurses. The presentation explored best practices for implementing simulation methods in education, the role of cognitive processes, and the importance of simulations in improving the quality and safety of patient care.
Prof. Uğur is a lecturer and leading researcher in the Department of Nursing at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, Istanbul. Her research interests lie in the fields of intensive care, simulation training, nursing team management, and patient safety. Her scientific publications exceed 150, and she is an active contributor to international research networks.
The second public lecture – “Seeing the Warning Signs: Early Detection and Care Escalation in Nursing Practice” was delivered by Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Nuran Ayşen Pamir Aksoy. The topic focused on early recognition of signs of patient deterioration and the role of nurses in taking timely action to improve clinical outcomes and patient safety.
Dr. Aksoy is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Nursing at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, Istanbul. Her scientific interests are related to surgical nursing, perioperative safety and clinical quality management.
Within the visit, meetings were also held with representatives of the academic management, lecturers, and researchers from MU–Varna, during which opportunities for future cooperation, joint scientific initiatives, and the exchange of best practices in nursing education and healthcare were on the agenda.
The events were implemented within the framework of project No. BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C03 “Medical University–Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)”, funded by the European Union – Next Generation, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria, under procedure No. BG-RRP-2.004 “Establishment of a Network of Research Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria”.
