Dr. Anna Yotova – a researcher and postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Davis (the USA) – delivered a public lecture titled “On Mice and Humans – Translational Studies” at Medical University–Varna.

The occasion for her visit was her participation in the MUVATHON conference of MU–Varna, which brought together international specialists in various fields on the topic of transferring technology from the laboratory into practice.

“My participation in the MUVATHON conference is determined by the need to initiate a broad dialogue in the field of translation in medicine and, above all, cooperation across various disciplines. This is very important not only in my field, but also in general for the development of science,” emphasized Dr. Yotova.

Dr. Anna Yotova is a postdoctoral researcher in interdisciplinary neurology at the Medical MIND Institute of the University of California, Davis (the USA), with experience in neurobiology and specialising in the field of translational psychiatry. She has extensive experience in behavioural, molecular and morphological research of animal models of neurological, psychiatric and rare genetic disorders. Her previous and ongoing research targets key neural pathways in the brain, as well as environmental and genetic risk factors for autism spectrum disorders.
