On 27 and 28 April 2026, Medical University – Varna will host the MUVATHON High Tech MUVE Conference “Ways Forward – Integration, Cooperation, Open Minds”. The event is organised under the project “MU-Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)”, under contract No. BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02. The project is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria, under procedure No. BG-RRP-2.004 “Establishment of a Network of Research Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria”.
The Conference will take place at Ensana Aquahouse Hotel in the resort of St. St. Constantine and Helena, and will bring together outstanding scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and representatives of European institutions. The main objective of the forum is to promote the transfer of knowledge from science to real-world medical practice. MUVATHON places a clear focus on the future – integration of knowledge, openness to new ideas, and creation of solutions with real impact on public health.
The conference programme covers four main thematic areas:
- Oncology and Translational Medicine – with an emphasis on innovative approaches in diagnostics and treatment, as well as successful models for turning scientific discoveries into real-world solutions for patients.
- Autism Spectrum Disorders – examination of contemporary scientific theories, social aspects, and the need for support for families.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Health – from scientific concept to market implementation, including participation of representatives of the European Innovation Council and start-ups.
- Traditions and Medicine – a unique perspective on the relationship between cultural heritage, natural resources, and modern medical research.
In addition to the scientific sessions, MUVATHON 2026 will provide opportunities for meetings, presentations and informal discussions that will bring together researchers, investors and entrepreneurs. A special emphasis is placed on building sustainable partnerships and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Scientists and entrepreneurs from all higher education institutions are invited; however, due to the limited total number of participants, prior registration is required.
