Приемам | Разбери повечеAn international scientific conference entitled “New Horizons in Technology Transfer in Pharmacy”, organised by the Faculty of Pharmacy at MU-Varna, took place on 27 and 28 October at the Black Sea Hotel. The event was implemented under project № BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02 “Medical University–Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)”.
The forum was targeted at establishing valuable cooperation and exchanging ideas among universities, research institutes and the business sector, and opening new horizons for the pharmaceutical science. Prominent scientists and experts from Italy, Poland, Turkey, the Republic of North Macedonia, the Netherlands, France, Romania, the USA and Bulgaria participated in the Conference.
The Rector of MU–Varna Prof. Dimitar Raykov congratulated the participants with the following words, “Thank you for being here, which is a proof of the international recognition and high academic reputation of Medical University–Varna. I am confident that the event will become an impressive example demonstrating how science, education, and innovation can be united in the name of a healthier and more sustainable society.”
“We are excited that you are here at this meeting to get an insight into the latest advances and innovative strategies in Technology Transfer,” addressed the lecturers and participants Prof. Svetlana Fotkova, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. She added that the Conference is aimed to serve as a platform for sharing knowledge, gathering brilliant minds together, encouraging collaboration and new ideas that will constitute the future of the MUVE-TEAM research project.
“We have strong partnerships, and we have been working on joint scientific projects and publications,” pointed out Prof. Georgi Momekov, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at MU-Sofia. He underlined that such initiatives are invaluable both for scientists and businesses, and lead to implementation of ideas that can attract funding and can be implemented in practice.
The President of the European Thematic Network for Biotechnology Prof. Munis Dundar, who also participated in the Conference, added that the event is also very important for young scientists. “This is a new era, a new consciousness that we can pass on to the next generation of young professionals. Obviously, the collaboration between lecturers and participants is also a great opportunity.”
The event focused on diverse facets of pharmaceutical care, pharmacological perspectives in the treatment of socially significant diseases, pharmaceutical design, isolation and characterisation of biologically active substances, biological and chemical sciences, and the role of artificial intelligence and digital innovations in the future development of Pharmacy.
