Приемам | Разбери повечеThe renowned paediatric endocrinologist Prof. Maria-Elisabeth Street from the University of Parma, Italy, will deliver a public lecture entitled “Environmental Threats to Mothers' and Children's Global Health: Focus on Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals” on 9 October at 5 p.m. at First Auditorium of MU-Varna. The visit of the guest lecturer from Italy is under project No BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02 “Medical University-Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)” under 3.3. International Cooperation in the Strategic Areas of Higher Education.
Prof. Maria-Elisabeth Street is a prominent researcher, paediatric endocrinologist and laboratory specialist with an h-index of 35 and more than 4 000 citations in the international literature. Her major research interests lie in the field of small-for-gestational-age infants and the use of micro-RNA as a laboratory marker in Paediatric Endocrinology. Over the last few years Prof. Street's research activities have been influenced by the so-called endocrine-disrupting chemicals.
Prof. Street's agenda also includes meetings with specialists from MU-Varna where current topics in the field of paediatric endocrine diseases, including fundamental scientific experience related to the development of biomarkers are to be discussed, aimed at exchanging good practices and ideas for cooperation.
