"The students at this Faculty of Dental Medicine have the opportunity to apply cutting edge technologies in the field of Dental Medicine and special instruments for specific areas such as ear, nose, and throat, or for interactions with other medical sectors such as the Departments of Anatomy and Physiology," emphasized Prof. Tonemann during his visit to the Faculty of Dental Medicine at MU-Varna.
The guest got acquainted with the capabilities of the high-tech laboratories of the Faculty and the Department of Audio-Vestibular and Sleep Medicine at the University Dental Centre.
"The reason I wanted to visit the Dental Faculty of MU-Varna is the new scanning electron microscope and the opportunities it offers for mapping proteins or images from scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy," the guest emphasized.
As part of Prof. Thonemann's schedule, he delivered a lecture on "Complications in Endodontic Treatment: Identification and Management". He also held scientific discussions with scientists from the Faculty of Dental Medicine.
The visit of Prof. Dr. Birger Thonemann was a part of the project "Medical University - Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)”, and in fulfillment of the research tasks set by Scientific Group 3.2.2 “Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Comorbidity”.
