Prof. Dr. Karl Hörmann - Head of Scientific Group "Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Comorbidity (GOSACD)" under the MUVE-TEAM project of MU-Varna, delivered a lecture for the academic community, in which he focused on comorbid insomnia and the use of modern technologies and AI as tools for diagnosing and managing sleep apnea.
During his visit to Varna, Prof. Hörmann held scores of meetings, including meetings with the Rector of MU-Varna Prof. Dr. Dimitar Raykov and with the Chairperson of the Management Committee of MUVE-TEAM Prof. Diana Ivanova, at which she was awarded an honorary plaque. The renowned specialist from Germany also participated in working meetings with the Management of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, as well as with Mr. Kostadin Gramatikov - Technology Transfer Expert in the Department of Technology Transfer and Innovation, where the opportunities for future projects related to the work of the Scientific Group were on the agenda.
During his stay, Prof. Dr. Karl Hörmann also paid a visit to UMHAT "St. Marina", where together with other specialists in the field, he discussed the opportunities for future joint initiatives, trainings and practices. Prof. Dr. Karl Hörmann also conducted individual consultations with patients suffering from OSA at the Audio-Vestibular Sector of the University Dental Centre.
During his visit to Medical University–Varna, the principal investigator of Scientific Group "Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Comorbidity" joined the celebration on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the Museum of the History of Medicine, as well as the opening of the 46th National Meeting of the AMSB-Varna.
The visit of Prof. Dr. Karl Hörmann was within the project BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02 Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM), funded by the European Union–NextGenerationEU.
