Приемам | Разбери повечеOn 25 and 26 February Prof. Dr. Vladimir Todorov from Witten/Herdecke University in Germany visited MU-Varna. The event was organised by Scientific Group 3.2.3. RenEVA under Project No. BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02 “Medical University-Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)". The leading scientist delivered two academic lectures with topics “Beyond the Renin-Angiotensin-System: Novel Functions of the Renin Cells" and “Transgenic Mice as Experimental Models in Translational Research: Advantages and Limitations".
Prof. Dr. Vladimir Todorov's visit and the topics of the scientific lectures provided an opportunity for enhancing the scope of the international scientific networks of MU-Varna, for new mobility and knowledge transfer of the academic staff.
Business card: Professor Dr. Vladimir Todorov is a leading scientist and currently Chairman of the Institute of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Chairman of the Centre for Biomedical Education and Research (Zentrum für Biomedizinische Ausbildung und Forschung - ZBAF) and Head of the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology at Witten/Herdecke University in Germany.
Prof. Todorov's main scientific interests are related to Renal Physiology and Pathophysiology, which are based on his long-standing experience as Head of the Experimental Department of Nephrology, Department of Nephrology, University Hospital "Carl Gustav Carus", Dresden (Germany), as well as at the Institute of Physiology, University of Regensburg (Germany).
Professor Todorov is renowned among the international scientific community as a holder of numerous prestigious awards from the European Kidney Research Association (EKRA) - European Renal Association (ERA) - European Dialysis and Transplant Association (EDTA), International and European Hypertension Societies.
