Приемам | Разбери повечеThe 14th International Symposium on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyposis and the 7th Symposium on Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Snoring, organised by the team of Scientific Group 3.2.2 "Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Comorbidity", under the project № RRP-2.004-0009-C02 "Medical University–Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)" was held from 26th to 28th September, at Sts. Constantine and Helena Resort.
Renowned specialists in Otorhinolaryngology, Pulmonology, Public Health, etc. from Italy, Japan, India, Asia Minor, Egypt, the Philippines, Germany, North Macedonia, Israel, Malta, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Albania and Bulgaria participated at the symposium as lecturers. More than 45 presentations with an interdisciplinary practical focus were delivered at the Forum, divided into eight scientific sessions, with the focal points of the scientific event being: diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome and snoring; the role of comorbidity associated with obstructive sleep apnoea, work on developing methods for treatment of mild and moderate forms of obstructive sleep apnoea and snoring using intraoral dental devices, including the development of other treatment methods in Sleep Medicine. The role and significance of Sleep Medicine and comorbidity was another topic on the agenda. Topics related to rhinosinusitis and nasal polyposis, rhinoplasty and allergic conditions were also addressed. Several roundtable discussions were organised focused on obstructive sleep apnoea – social aspects and treatment, and in the field of hearing prosthetics.
The scientific conference provided an opportunity to exchange information and successful practices among well-established scientists in the field, and to create conditions for networking with specialists from different countries. This is a prerequisite for collaboration and exchange of expertise among the participants, which is in line with one of the objectives set out in Section 3.3. International cooperation in the strategic areas of the higher education institution, namely – providing the opportunity to a maximum number of young scientists from MU–Varna working in the field of "Prevention, Disease and Health Systems Management" and "Public Health and Disease Management" to directly exchange experience and knowledge with scientists from all over the world.
