Medical University – Varna participated with nine scientific contributions – two oral presentations and seven poster presentations, delivered before an international audience comprising thousands of delegates. The delegation of the University brought together different generations of researchers: two undergraduate students, two early-career researchers, and established academic staff from the Departments of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Social Medicine and Health Organisation, Paediatrics, as well as Medical College – Varna.
The scientific presentations addressed a range of current topics, including the nutritional status and dietary behaviour of children with autism spectrum disorder and cerebral palsy, micronutrient deficiencies, intestinal microbiota, and approaches to personalised nutritional support.
A substantial proportion of the results were obtained within the framework of the NutriLect project, part of the strategic research and innovation programme MUVE-TEAM of MU–Varna.
The participation in ESPGHAN 2026 demonstrated not only the level of scientific research conducted at MU–Varna, but also the successful integration of various departments, students and young scientists into international research teams.
